Where applicable, Financial Recoveries Limited processes data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) for the purposes of debt collection. When dealing with Individuals, our legal basis for doing so, is as a ‘Legitimate Interest’ holder, as defined by the Information Commissioner’s Office.

This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about Individuals, and how we manage that data.

What information do we collect about Individuals?

We collect information about Individuals from our clients, with whom we have a contractual obligation to provide a range of credit control and debt collection activities. The data we collect may include (but is not limited to) an Individuals name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address and historical payment performance. We do not hold special category data or criminal offence data, as defined by the Information Commissioners Office.

How will we use the information about Individuals?

In fulfilling our client’s instructions, we may send an Individuals details to credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies. We may also obtain details about Individuals from these agencies. In addition, we may pass an Individuals details to a 3rd party collection agency, with which we have a contractual relationship.

Access to information about an Individual

If we have contacted you as an individual, (and not as a representative of a company), you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. We have an obligation to provide that information within 30 days of your written request.
